Jan Vermeer (Holland) (1632-1675):
Here is an image of an original painting by Johannes (Jan) Vermeer, titled 'The Astronomer':-
Vermeer worked diligently and with great care, using bright colours and sometimes expensive colors, with a preference for cornflower blue and yellow. He is particularly renowned for his masterly treatment and use of light in his work.
The Girl with a Pearl Earring (Dutch: Het meisje met de parel) is one of Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer's masterworks and as the name implies, uses a pearl earring for a focal point. The painting is currently housed at The Mauritshuis in The Hague. It is sometimes referred to as "the Mona Lisa of the North" or "the Dutch Mona Lisa". The girl's brown eyes and pearl and mysterious life of the artist deserves this painting to be one of the best and one of the most expensive. Here are my digital paintings of different views of the same masterworks:-
